Opening of Service MIDDLEBOROUGH AND TAUNTON RAILROAD opened, Middleboro to Middleboro Junction, about 8 miles.

Opening of Service New York & New Haven Railroad moves into new joint New Haven/Harlem New York passenger station at 4th Avenue &

27th Street and abandons old station at Canal Street; new station occupied block between 26th & 27th Streets with NY&H

on one side and NY&NH on other.

Opening of Service NEW HAVEN & NORTHAMPTON COMPANY commenced operating lines of FARMINGTON VALLEY RAILROAD

and HAMPSHIRE & HAMPDEN RAILROAD itself, hiring cars from the NEW YORK & NEW HAVEN.

Acquisition FAIRHAVEN BRANCH RAILROAD COMPANY deeded to NEW BEDFORD & TAUNTON RAILROAD

Merger FALL RIVER & WARREN RAILROAD COMPANY united with WARREN & FALL RIVER RAILROAD COMPANY

under name of FALL RIVER, WARREN & PROVIDENCE RAILROAD COMPANY.

Milestone ROCKVILLE BRANCH RAILROAD COMPANY name changed to THE ROCKVILLE RAILROAD COMPANY.

Incorporation NEW YORK, HOUSATONIC & NORTHERN RAILROAD COMPANY authorized by Connecticut to construct a railroad

In Connecticut from the New York line to Brookfield.

7/9/1864
Incorporation NEW HAVEN & DERBY RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut with authority to construct a railroad from

New Haven to Ansonia, 13 miles. (Company organized April 24, 1867.)

7/1/1866
Opening of Service AGRICULTURAL BRANCH RAILROAD opened, Northboro to Pratts Junction, about 14 miles.

7/30/1866
Incorporation NEW CANAAN RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut. Constructed a railroad from Stamford to New

Canaan, 8.3 miles.

7/24/1867
Incorporation NEW HAVEN, MIDDLETOWN & WILLIMANTIC RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated In Connecticut with authority

to construct a railroad from New Haven to Willimantic, 50 miles. (Company organized October 24, 1868.)

Opening of Service NEW CANAAN RAILROAD opened, Stamford to New Canaan.
