Incorporation FARMINGTON VALLEY RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut with authority to construct a railroad from

Granby to the Massachusetts state line towards Westfield, 4.5 miles. (Company organized October 29, 1852.)

Incorporation NEW BRITAIN & MIDDLETOWN RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut constructed a railroad from New

Britain to Berlin, 3 miles. (Company organized January 7, 1864.)

Milestone PROVIDENCE & BRISTOL RAILROAD COMPANY (Rhode Island), name changed to PROVIDENCE, WARREN &

BRISTOL RAILROAD COMPANY (RHODE ISLAND).

Incorporation NEW LONDON & STONINGTON RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut, with authority to construct a

railroad from the New York, Providence and Boston Railroad at Stonington to Groton, on the eastern side of the Thames

River opposite New London, and to construct and operate a ferry between Groton and New London.

BOSTON & PROVIDENCE RAILROAD & TRANSPORTATION COMPANY.

Merger HAMPSHIRE & HAMPDEN RAILROAD CORPORATION formed by union of HAMPDEN RAILROAD COMPANY and

NORTHAMPTON & WESTFIELD RAILROAD CORPORATION.

Incorporation EAST THOMPSON RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut, with authority to construct a railroad from East

Thompson for a distance of 2 miles to the Massachusetts line, over substantially the same route as the SOUTHBRIDGE &

BLACKSTONE RAILROAD COMPANY had been authorized to build in 1849. (Company organized June 27, 1853.)

Merger FALL RIVER RAILROAD COMPANY united with OLD COLONY RAILROAD CORPORATION under name of OLD

COLONY & FALL RIVER RAILROAD COMPANY.
