the Neponset River near Granite Bridge to a point on the BOSTON, HARTFORD & ERIE RAILROAD or the OLD

COLONY & NEWPORT RAILWAY. Rights transferred to OLD COLONY & NEWPORT RAILWAY COMPANY, July

Opening of Service NEWPORT & WICKFORD RAILROAD & STEAMBOAT COMPANY opened June 1, 1871, Wickford Junction to

Wickford, 3.3 miles (operated by New York, Providence & Boston.)

Opening of Service DUXBURY & COHASSET RAILROAD opened, Cohasset to Greenbush.

6/1/1873
Acquisition Newly formed SHEPAUG RAILROAD COMPANY took possession of THE SHEPAUG VALLEY RAILROAD

Opening of Service DUXBURY & COHASSET RAILROAD opened, South Duxbury to Kingston.

Opening of Service New Union Station, the 2nd located at the foot of Meadow Street, opens at New Haven, CT.

Merger MANSFIELD & FRAMINGHAM RAILROAD COMPANY consolidated with BOSTON, CLINTON & FITCHBURG

RAILROAD COMPANY under name of latter company.

Bankruptcy Trustees of First Mortgage take possession of New Haven, Middletown & Willimantic Railroad, replacing Trustees of

convertible Mortgage.

Incorporation New York & Boston Air Line Railroad incorporated as reorganization of New Haven, Middletown & Willimantic Railroad.

Incorporation BOSTON & NEW YORK AIR LINE RAILROAD COMPANY incorporated in Connecticut for the purpose of taking over

the property of the NEW HAVEN, MIDDLETOWN & WILLIMANTIC RAILROAD COMPANY. (Company organized

June 24, 1875.)

Merger BOSTON, CLINTON, FITCHBURG & NEW BEDFORD RAILROAD COMPANY formed by consolidation of THE

NEW BEDFORD RAILROAD COMPANY and the BOSTON, CLINTON & FITCHBURG RAILROAD COMPANY.

Incorporation RHODE ISLAND & MASSACHUSETTS RAILROAD COMPANY (Massachusetts Company) organized to construct a

railroad from Franklin, Massachusetts, to Rhode Island Line to connect with Rhode Island Company of same name extending

to Valley Falls.

6/12/1876
Opening of Service OLD COLONY RAILROAD COMPANY put in operation its Granite or West Quincy Branch extension from the gravel pit

to the main line north of Braintree Station, 0.3 miles.
