Milestone Frederic C. Dumaine, Sr., announces that he and associates have acquired a majority of the New Haven's preferred stock.

Opening of Service The New Haven Railroad inaugurated the "Cranberry," a new Boston, MA - Hyannis, MA seasonal train.

Milestone President and Chairman of the Board, Frederic C. Dumaine, Sr of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company

dies at age 85 at his home in Groton, Massachusetts. His eldest son, Frederic C. "Buck" Dumaine Jr. takes over both posts

becoming the 18th President of the railroad.
