The NHRHTA is proud to announce its all color New Haven Railroad 2002 Calendar!
Our 2002 calendar features the following photos:
Cover -- Three DERS-4 units (GP-9) at Northup Ave. Yard, Providence, Rhode Island.
Front Piece, left -- Danbury, CT: derrick D-100 based out of New Haven picks up an errant reefer that
has come to grief in 12/58.
Front Piece, right -- The Maybrook, NY, tool train with derrick D-6 cleans up a mess at Brewster, NY, in
August 1956.
January -- EDER-5 (FL-9) powered Shore Line express departing Boston in the aftermath of a snowfall.
February -- Train #13, The 42nd Street, east of Attleboro, MA, powered by two DER-1 (DL-109) units.
March -- EF-3b 151 crosses over at SS-75 in the New Haven station headed for Cedar Hill on March 8th,
1959.
April -- New Rochelle, NY, April, 5, 1956, running with the front pan up is a morning commuter job in a
pristine matched consist of round roof MU cars in the standard green livery.
May -- Two EF-4 units making a set off at the Harlem River yards in the Bronx under the Hell Gate
Bridge approach.
June -- New Haven Station passenger motor line up on a June day in 1958.
July -- Alco DER-2a 0409 (FA-1) plods along with another Maybrook bound freight past Derby tower in
June of 1959.
August -- The still waters of the Naugatuck River reflect ND-2 traveling north of Beacon Falls powered
by a trio of Alco DERS-2c (RS-3) units.
September -- The wire train working on the overhead for track 2 at the South Norwalk, CT, station.
October -- The westbound Senator powered by EP-3 355, approaching the East River tunnels for Penn
Station, after passing Sunnyside yards.
November -- A New England Railfan Association trip out of Providence at Greenbush, MA, on January 8,
1956.
December -- The South Norwalk draw in the snow. The silence of the freshly fallen snow, the unique
electric zone semaphores, and of course the wires say it all.
Rear Cover -- A montage featuring freshly painted and lettered DEY-3, #0953 (S-1), pushed out of the
Lamberton Street shop in New Haven; New Haven MU car #4410 just delivered to the railroad on display at New
Rochelle, NY; the New Canaan "Dink" at the Richmond Hill Road grade crossing; and Maybrook bound symbol
freight NO-9 rumbles by the station at Newtown, CT, on May 8th, 1960.
