Cover
New Haven EP-5 #376 on track 11, Pennsylvania Station in New York City in the
mid 1960s.
Front Piece
Far from its Appalachian home ex VGN #134 awaits a makeover by its 3rd owner
on August 9, 1963.
Back Piece
New Haven EF-4 304 gleams in the afternoon sun on August 21, 1963.
January
A very heavy NX-15 with 2 DERS-2c units, heads north through Beacon Falls on
the Naugatuck line.
February
A Winter storm in 1956 has dumped a considerable amount on Framingham,
MA power for the locals and various yard jobs.
March
DERS-5 1410 looks as worn as its owner in this 1968 shot at
Bristol.
April
In the remnants of Springfields yards on April 27, 1968 a drag
for the B&A has stalled on the curve with an EDER-5 acting as a switcher.
May
On Shelton Ave, New Haven, CT ConnCo Parlor Car #500 has made the
mandatory stop before crossing the "Canal Line" at grade.
June
At West Kingston, RI another Shore Line express slams by the tower
in 1952.
July
Springfield, MA near the end in the summer of 1968. Train #71 an
unusual consist.
August
August 24, 1964 and train 452 between Bridgeport and Waterbury
consists of a single Budd car.
September
At South Station Boston on a rainy September 1962, two
products of La Grange stand side by side, a New Haven EDER-5a and a NYC E-unit.
October
Train #29 The Gilt Edge, races by Attleboro Tower and in
15 minutes will be making its station stop in Providence.
November
There was something for everyone gazing from the footbridge over
Cedar Hill engine storage in the winter of 1961.
December
Rebuilt DERS-2c 529 works an extra at Watertown, CT on
December 8 1963.
