Advertising Stickers

The New Haven Railroad distributed a number of stickers during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s which were used for advertising and promotional purposes. All stickers from the collection of Marc Frattasio.

The New Haven issued at least three different stamp sized advertising stickers during the mid to late 1930s. It appears that these stickers were intended for use on mail.

Here is another of the New Haven's stamp sized advertising stickers. The 'Portrait of a Man' theme was very commonly used by the New Haven on advertising material printed during the mid to late 1930s.

This stamp sized advertising sticker was used to publicize the New Haven's discounted fares for children who were between 5 and 12 years of age. Children under 5 were carried free of charge on the New Haven.

This sticker features a passenger train pulled by an Alco/GE DL-109 diesel locomotive. The sticker dates from 1946 and was the result of a suggestion from a New Haven employee.

This sticker was distributed to employees by the New Haven Railroad's PR department during the late 1940s. The sticker was intended to be stuck to the back window of an employee's automobile.

This sticker, actually a water-slide decal, was distributed to New Haven employees during the mid 1950s. It was intended to be stuck on an automobile window.
