In 1959 the cash-strapped New Haven Railroad discontinued the popular summer train service from New York City to Hyannis and Woods Hole on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, as part of the termination of Old Colony commuter service. Public reaction to the cancellation of the seasonal trains was such that the New Haven Railroad brought the Cape Cod service back during the summer of 1960 and operated it every summer afterwards up through 1964. Advertising materials are from the collection of Marc Frattasio. All images have been reproduced at approximately 10% actual size.
